Service Line Program Administrator
The hybrid schedule for this position is 4 days remote with 1 day onsite (usually Wednesdays)
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership within an academic medical center, specifically within an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center. They will possess experience in running a center or service line, demonstrating expertise in overseeing operations, setting strategic direction, and driving service excellence. Additionally, this individual should have significant experience in project managing large, multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring alignment across a range of specialties to achieve organizational goals. Finally, the ideal candidate will have at least a masters degree
The Service Line Program Administrator will be responsible for the administrative oversight of 2-4 service lines and will provide program support and strategic leadership, working with the Service Line Leadership within the Chief Operating Officer’s office. This role will collaborate closely with each service line’s physician dyad leadership team, strategic operations lead, and other clinical and academic stakeholders to develop an overall strategic plan for the service line each year. The Program Administrator will facilitate key leadership conversations, assist in selecting quality improvement initiatives, manage specific workgroups and produce/deliver products such as business plans on behalf of their teams. Over the course of the year, this role will also provide data assistance and analysis to service line leadership, as teams monitor metrics and performance on annual goals.
Service Line Program Administrators will also have the opportunity to attend key clinical operations leadership meetings and retreats, to receive additional analytics and quality improvement training, and to impact important operational initiatives as defined by the Service Line Leadership and Chief Operating Officer.
This role will benefit from applicants with strong communication and emotional intelligence skills, including experience leading presentations and group facilitation; strong analytics skills, with the ability to analyze information and draw conclusions and recommendations for senior leaders; and strong strategic decision-making and change management skills, including the ability to bring together stakeholders from across the institution to form cohesive plans.
Job Functions
- Works closely with service line leadership to create and/or redesign the program management infrastructure for each service line.
- Collaborates closely with each service line's faculty, administrative and clinical operational leaders to break down silos and support collaboration across mission areas.
- Assist the service line with designing an annual strategic plan.
- Establishes annual goals and metrics with service line leaders and stakeholders.
- Prioritizes and coordinates quality improvement initiatives.
- Participates in service line events and functions.
- Maintains a fundamental awareness of other institutional initiatives affecting the service lines and seeks opportunities for collaboration and goal alignment.
EDUCATION - Bachelor's Degree in business, healthcare administration or related field. Preferred: Master's Degree in business, healthcare administration or related field. WORK EXPERIENCE - 5 years progressive managerial experience in a healthcare related field or healthcare/business development.
