Transportation Representative - Courier Services
The UT MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Transportation Representative & Courier to support the efficient transport of materials across the organization. The Transportation Representative & Courier plays a vital role in ensuring timely and secure delivery of packages, including confidential documents and laboratory specimens, across campus and to offsite locations. Within Fac Mgt RAF Campus Services, the Transportation Representative & Courier helps maintain operational continuity by adhering to strict delivery schedules and safety standards.

The ideal candidate is a dependable, safety-focused professional with a strong driving background and excellent customer service skills, capable of efficiently transporting patient samples, specimens, blood, slides, film, interoffice mail, and other materials between labs and locations. This individual is comfortable driving for extended periods, frequently entering and exiting a vehicle, walking short distances, and lifting up to 50 lbs, while maintaining accuracy and timeliness in a fast-paced, logistics-driven environment. Candidates should possess a valid Texas driver’s license and a clean driving record, with the ability to operate a vehicle safely in all conditions, including inclement weather. Courier, delivery, or logistics experience is preferred but not required, and familiarity with the Texas Medical Center and the Greater Houston area is a plus. Reliability, attention to detail, and professionalism in handling sensitive materials are essential for success in this role.
The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 7am-4pm
Salary Range: $37,450 - $42,725 - $48,000

Responsibilities
Package Pickup & Delivery
• Operate institutional vehicles from Courier Services base to pickup and delivery locations following policies and procedures
• Transport packages, supplies, mail, laboratory specimens, and equipment across campus and offsite locations
• Use package moving equipment and industry-related software and handheld devices for delivery tracking
• Maintain assigned vehicles and equipment in good working condition
• Follow all institutional safety guidelines for vehicle operation and material handling
• Collect required pickup and delivery signatures accurately
• Communicate with courier dispatch and management to coordinate efficient deliveries
• Train new employees on pickup and delivery procedures as assigned
• Complete routine administrative tasks including vehicle usage logs and reports
Time Management
• Follow time-critical schedules and maintain accurate logs of delivery and pickup times
• Communicate promptly with dispatch regarding delays or unforeseen issues impacting schedules
• Regularly refresh handheld devices to track assigned delivery tasks and timelines
• Ensure all assigned deliveries are completed safely and within expected timeframes
Customer Service
• Interact with customers professionally and courteously during pickups and deliveries
• Document customer concerns or issues and escalate to management as required
• Answer customer questions and provide directions to patients and visitors when needed
Other Duties
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations
EDUCATION
- Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Required: Two years Relevant work experience and ability to drive golf carts, three-ton van or other vehicles as required.
- Preferred: Experience in a retail, office or related service industry
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Required: TDL - Texas Drivers License Class A, B or C valid Texas driver's license depending on the type and weight of vehicle to be operated and number of passengers to be carried. Upon Hire and

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
