This position is critical to executing the Master Facility Framework, which governs the development of new campuses and the optimization of existing facilities.

Summary:

The Director, Clinical Strategic Infrastructure Project develops strategies that enable clinical operations to effectively use physical space and prepare for future infrastructure needs. This role also leads Clinical Operations, Strategic / Facilities Infrastructure efforts including Departmental, Divisional, and Institutional Plans for clinical spaces, clinical support services, and operational infrastructure needs. .

The ideal candidate for the Director, Clinical Strategic Infrastructure Project is a strategic thinker and collaborative leader with deep expertise in healthcare operations and facility planning. They excel at aligning infrastructure initiatives with clinical priorities, ensuring that every project supports patient care, operational efficiency, and institutional growth. The Director, Clinical Strategic Infrastructure Project combines strong analytical skills with exceptional communication abilities, enabling them to influence decision-making at the highest levels while fostering cross-functional collaboration.

Salary range: Minimum $146,500 - Midpoint $183,000 - Maximum $219,500

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the development of strategies for optimal use of clinical operations space and future infrastructure needs.
  • Leads the development of executive summaries, business plans, and project-related documents.
  • Participates in selection committees for large-scale capital projects.
  • Collaborates with Facilities SMEs to update Owners Design Guidelines, aligning them with clinical requirements.
  • Reviews facility condition assessment documents, assessing aging infrastructure, and determine funding needed for clinical operations in line with strategic planning.
  • Prepares project submission packets, including business plans, financial analysis, scope of work, KPUs, costs, and timelines for clinical projects.
  • Collaborate on post-occupancy analysis, incorporating patient volumes, staffing models, operational expenses, financial modeling, and project performance.
  • Coordinates with clinical and facilities leaders to support multidisciplinary mission and facilitate long-range planning.
  • Collaborates with design and construction professionals.
  • Provides leadership and direction to Clinical teams to ensure sustainability and resiliency are incorporated into projects.
  • Manages all aspects of human resources for assigned staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree.
  • Preferred: Master's Degree.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Required: Seven years experience in facilities planning, design, or capital project management, including at least five years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate and/or LEADing Self Discover programs may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Completion of both programs can be substituted for a maximum of two years of supervisory or management experience.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Preferred: PE - Professional Engineer Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.), State of Texas or Registered Architect, State of Texas.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
