Qualifications:
· An accomplished plastic surgeon and physician leader (MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree) nationally or internationally recognized in the field with an outstanding track record of accomplishment in care delivery, research, and education.
· Must practice reconstructive microsurgery in an exemplary fashion with current board certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Fellowship training in Reconstructive Plastic Surgery is strongly preferred.
· 8 – 10 years of administrative leadership experience at an academic medical center environment, including experience serving as a Department Chair, Vice Chair, Division Chief, or an Institute Director.
· Experience in research, training, and clinical achievement, commensurate with appointment to the faculty at the rank of Full Professor.
· Financial and business acumen, including successful budget management experience.
· Track record of faculty management experience, including experience developing and implementing faculty retention, recruitment, and development initiatives.
· Ability to function effectively in a matrix organization cultivating a team and culture focused on core values of caring, integrity, discovery, stewardship and safety.
· Experience growing research programs, promoting academic excellence, and setting a research direction.
· Eligible for unrestricted Texas medical licensure.
