Education
Required: Associate's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related field.
Preferred: Associate’s degree in Air Conditioning/Refrigeration, Instrumentation, Electrical, Mechanical or Plumbing or a Bachelor’s Level Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related field.

Experience
Required: Six years’ experience of experience in a physical plant environment working with one or more of the following systems: emergency power supply system, steam production, chilled water production, and/or potable water production system to include three years of lead/supervisory experience. May substitute required degree with additional years of related experience on a one-to-one basis. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate program may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience.
Preferred: Experience in a mechanical field to include commercial installation, repair and maintenance of HVAC, refrigeration, control systems or another mechanical environment, Electronic, building automated systems and pneumatic controls experience, Plumbing experience
 

Licenses and Certification
Preferred:

  • First or Second Grade Licensed Stationary Engineer
  • Class D Water Operator license issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ)
  • UC-EPA – Universal Certification Universal Certification by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
  • ACRC – A/C & Refrigeration Contractor
  • JRNY-E – Journeyman Electrician
  • JRNY-P - Journeyman Plumber
  • MGPI – Medical Gas Piping Installation
  • BPAT – Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester
  • Texas Driver’s License (TDL) Valid Class A, B, or C and eligible to drive state and institutional vehicles
     

Other Requirements

Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
