EDUCATION
Required: High school diploma or equivalent with a certificate from an approved Ultrasound Sonography Program or a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) approved Radiologic Technology Program.
Preferred: Bachelor in Science from a JRCERT program in Diagnostic Imaging or Radiologic Technology such as Bachelor Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (BS OMS)
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Required: All of the following:
• Certified by at least one of the following: ARDMS or ARRT Sonography (S) or ARRT Vascular Sonography (VS) or Registry Eligible
• Registry Eligible: Within 24 months of graduation from an Ultrasound or Radiologic Technology Program, registry eligible candidates must obtain full certification from ARDMS or ARRT (S) or ARRT (VS). Failure to obtain full registration will result in termination of employment or
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography credentials.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)/ CPR
Preferred: ARDMS certified with the Breast Registry
EXPERIENCE
Required: No ultrasound experience required or 6 months of experience as a Registered Radiologic Technologist at UTMDACC
Preferred: Two years of experience in Sonography
