Sr Public Safety Officer

As a Senior Public Safety Officer, you’ll help create a secure and welcoming environment that allows our patients, families, and staff to focus on what matters most—care, healing, and discovery. WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Patrol university property by vehicle and on foot, ensuring a safe and secure environment
• Manage door screenings, access control, and lock/unlock procedures
• Support morgue duty, package delivery, animal deliveries, parking, traffic control, and response calls
• Prepare accurate incident and departmental reports
• Operate and monitor security technology systems, reporting issues as needed
• Assist motorists, provide escort services, and relieve dispatchers when required
• Lead, train, mentor, and evaluate Public Safety Officers on your team

EDUCATION:
Required: High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Associate's degree
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Two years as a Public Safety Officer or related experience. With Associate's degree, no experience required.
Preferred: Three years as a Public Safety Officer.
LICENSES and CERTIFICATIONS:
Required: Valid Class A, B or C Texas driver’s license.
Preferred: Basic Certification issued by the International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety; Certified Healthcare Security Officer; Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer; Certified Healthcare Security Supervisor.
OTHER:
Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code and therefore may require routine reviews and screening. The ability to satisfy and maintain all requirements necessary to ensure the continued security and integrity of such infrastructure is a condition of hire and continued employment.
