The Senior Materials Management Representative plays a key role within Materials Management Services, supporting operational efficiency and high-quality service delivery. This position ensures that daily supply, equipment, and inventory workflows run smoothly to support patient care areas and institutional operations. As a central member of the team, the Senior Materials Management Representative provides leadership to assigned staff, coordinates daily tasks, and maintains essential supply systems.

The Senior Materials Management Representative serves an important role at MD Anderson Cancer Center. MD Anderson Cancer Center is a leading institution focused on cancer care, research, education, and prevention. This position helps maintain critical supply chain functions that enable uninterrupted clinical services, supporting the institution’s mission to provide outstanding patient care.

The ideal candidate for the Senior Materials Management Representative role brings strong experience in materials management, supply chain operations, or inventory coordination, along with demonstrated skills in leading daily work activities.

Salary for the Senior Materials Management Representative is based on a 40‑hour work week and includes:
Minimum $22.60 – Midpoint $28.13 – Maximum $33.65


The typical work schedule is 6am – 2:30pm with rotating holidays and weekends.
Work Location: Onsite.

Responsibilities

Shift Leadership & Work Direction
• Lead assigned shift operations and provide work direction.
• Counsel and coach team members to support performance and workflow consistency.
• Participate in preparing daily work assignments.

Supply Replenishment & Inventory Coordination
• Coordinate daily supply replenishment activities.
• Assist with inventory management using cycle counts and annual inventory procedures.
• Support coordination of departmental and area-specific inventories.

Cart, Equipment & Materials Handling
• Perform cart maintenance and upkeep.
• Maintain and prepare emergency crash carts.
• Conduct daily equipment safety inspections.
• Store, dispense, pick up, and deliver linens, patient supplies, and equipment.

Receiving, Stocking & Distribution
• Perform just‑in‑time receiving functions.
• Stock, deliver, and maintain 24‑hour par‑level locations and/or exchange carts.
• Assist with stocking, cleaning, or transporting in areas where medications are delivered or stored, ensuring proper medication security.

Systems & Operational Support
• Operate automated information systems to support daily materials management tasks.
• Ensure operational accuracy and timely completion of supply chain workflows.

EDUCATION

  • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Required: 5 years Relevant work experience to include three years in inventory, logistics or a related field. or
  • Required: 3 years Business or administrative experience to include two years in logistics, inventory or a related field with preferred Associate's degree. or
  • Required: 1 year Experience in business, administrative, logistics, inventory, or related field with preferred Bachelor's degree.
