The ideal candidate for the Senior IT Project Manager – Innovation/Data position is a strategic leader with proven experience managing large-scale, data-driven projects in complex environments. They possess a strong understanding of data platforms, analytics tools, and emerging technologies, combined with exceptional project management expertise. This individual thrives in dynamic settings, demonstrates outstanding communication skills, and can translate business objectives into actionable technology strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead large-scale, cross-functional programs and projects with enterprise-wide impact.
  • Motivate and guide project teams toward common goals.
  • Coach and mentor TDI Project Managers and contract PM resources.
  • Engage stakeholders to manage expectations and demonstrate project value.
  • Collaborate with sponsors and key team members to ensure requirements are captured accurately.

Domain Expertise

  • Apply best practices and methodologies for portfolio, resource, and project management.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation including scope, schedule, budget, risk, and status reports.
  • Ensure timely updates in PMO platforms and customer approvals for system readiness.
  • Oversee resource allocation and financial management to keep projects within budget.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks.
  • Coordinate technical requirements, training plans, and transition to operations.

Organizational Efficiency

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and escalate issues promptly.
  • Provide regular updates and ensure projects stay on schedule, within scope and budget.
  • Assess challenges, propose solutions, and drive process improvements.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external customers and vendors.
  • Adapt to changing environments and stakeholder needs.

Other Duties

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support departmental goals.

EDUCATION

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred: Master's Degree Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Healthcare Administration or related field.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Required: 6 years Experience to include five years in project management and five years in application and/or infrastructure services. or
  • Required: 4 years Experience is required to include three years in project management and three years in application and/or infrastructure services with preferred degree.
  • May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
  • Preferred: 6+ years of experience managing data-related products or projects, 6+ years of experience leading cross-functional, large-scale and high-complex programs and/or projects that were implemented enterprise-wide, 5+ years of experience with implementing technology, AI, Metadata, and/or innovation solutions, and 5+ years of experience creating and delivering presentations for Executive Leadership. Experience with ServiceNow, Salesforce, Hyperion. 

     

     

    Work Schedule: This position has a hybrid schedule (onsite and remote). Prefer local candidates in the Houston area. 

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Preferred: Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI
