The Senior Facilities Project Manager represents Facilities Planning, Design and Construction by providing project management expertise in the management of one or more assigned projects, assisting with complex major projects, and independently managing less complex capital facility projects. The Senior Facilities Project Manager applies knowledge of construction processes, product application, and building and infrastructure component assembly to support successful project delivery in a highly regulated healthcare environment.

Within UT MD Anderson, the Senior Facilities Project Manager plays a critical role in ensuring capital facility projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with institutional, regulatory, and industry standards while supporting uninterrupted clinical operations.

The ideal candidate is a results-driven Senior Project Manager with deep expertise managing complex construction renovation projects within active healthcare environments, supported by appropriate education, relevant work experience, and applicable licenses or certifications. This individual demonstrates exceptional skill navigating the unique challenges of active clinical settings, including strict infection control protocols, patient safety considerations, and the need to maintain uninterrupted facility operations, while effectively coordinating multidisciplinary teams, aligning diverse stakeholders, and maintaining precise, consistent communication with clinical staff, contractors, and leadership.

Salary Range: $123,000 - $154,000 - $185,000

Responsibilities
Project Management
• Represent Facilities Planning, Design and Construction on assigned projects
• Manage one or more assigned projects, assisting with complex major projects and managing less complex capital facility projects
• Integrate and coordinate project elements across scope, schedule, budget, and quality
• Manage stakeholders through effective delegation, communication, and coordination
• Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within approved budgets, and in accordance with quality standards
• Guide and manage project teams including customers, contractors, consultants, internal resources, and Facilities Management Division groups
• Apply conflict management techniques and strong written and verbal communication to achieve successful project outcomes

Compliance and Regulations
• Manage contractual compliance and relationships for assigned projects
• Define and implement contractual and financial strategies
• Coordinate approval procedures with the BOR, THECB, FSC, and associated state agencies
• Collaborate with Supply Chain Services to prepare documentation required for contract award
• Support the ROCIP on selected projects
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies and applicable industry standards

Documentation and Recordkeeping
• Develop and manage accurate, current, and complete project documentation
• Maintain financial and activity status reports to support decision-making and issue resolution
• Ensure project documentation records are organized and stored properly
• Manage the generation, collection, dissemination, storage, and disposition of project information

Other
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of Facilities Planning, Design and Construction objectives

EDUCATION

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree Construction Management, Construction Science or other construction related Architectural Engineering field or related discipline.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Required: Five years Project management/construction experience.
  • May substitute Bachelor's degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
  • Preferred: 15 years Project management/construction management experience. Design and construction experience with major academic healthcare and/or research facilities.
