The Senior Counselor will provide individualized treatment utilizing behavioral and psychological interventions and assessment techniques in the provision of clinical care or in clinical or behavioral research protocols and clinical programs.

The ideal candidate will be a Texas based LPC or LMFT with strong family systems theory, developmental and health psychology background and experience and drive to work in clinical settings, including both inpatient and outpatient dealing with health and terminal illness, processing grief and trauma, and working extensively with children, adolescents, and their families.  Preference for clinical experience in health or medical clinical settings.

JOB FUNCTIONS: 

* Applies psychological or behavioral interventions and assessment techniques for research or clinical programs.
* Develops and/or delivers individualized psychologically based treatment plans.
* Maintains appropriate documentation of all clinical activities and protocols.
* Implements operational procedures maintaining quality assurance.
* Assists in monitoring research or clinical protocol adherence and strategic planning for the clinical protocol.
* Trains staff evaluates performance, and provides clinical supervision
* Other duties as assigned

 

EDUCATION:
Required: Master's Degree Counseling Psychology or Clinical Psychology.

EXPERIENCE:
Required: Three years post-masters related counseling experience.
Preferred: Experience working with children and adolescents in clinical settings, including palliative care and end-of-life support.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
The position requires one of the following Texas state licenses:
LPC – Licensed Professional Counselor (strong departmental preference)
LMFT – Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (strong departmental preference)
LMSW – Licensed Medical Social Worker
LCSW – Licensed Clinical Social Worker
LPA – Licensed Psychological Associate
