The Institutional Compliance department at MD Anderson Cancer Center plays a vital role in ensuring the organization operates with integrity, transparency, and adherence to regulatory and ethical standards. This team partners closely with faculty, leadership, and departments across the institution to support conflict of interest management, export control compliance, and institutional regulatory oversight in support of the organization’s mission.
This Senior Compliance Analyst role offers the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative and detail-oriented environment while serving as a key resource for compliance-related analysis, review, and guidance. This position is ideal for an experienced compliance professional who can work independently, navigate complex regulatory matters, and serve as a knowledgeable resource and mentor to other team members.
In this role, you will conduct comprehensive reviews of Conflict of Interest (COI) disclosures, ensuring compliance with institutional policies, federal regulations, and system guidelines. You will coordinate with faculty, staff, and stakeholders across the institution to identify, evaluate, and manage potential conflicts while supporting processes related to management plans, committee meetings, annual certifications, and database oversight.
You will also support Institutional Conflict of Interest and Export Control compliance activities, assisting with the coordination and implementation of management plans and reviewing export-related matters to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This includes reviewing forms, sponsored research activities, and responding to inquiries regarding export control regulations and institutional policies.
Additionally, this role will support compliance investigations and international collaboration activities, partnering with leadership within Institutional Compliance on sensitive and complex matters requiring sound judgment, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Success in this role requires strong analytical and organizational skills, the ability to work autonomously, and a deep understanding of regulatory compliance processes. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while serving as a reliable source of guidance and problem-solving within the team.

**This position is remote within Texas only. Any candidate outside of the state of Texas must be willing to relocate. Occasional onsite presence required (once a month)
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Conflict of Interest
- Reviews Conflict of Interest (COI) disclosures submitted to the Conflict of Interest Committee (COIC).
- Conducts thorough reviews of disclosures filed with the COIC and maintains familiarity with Institutional policies and SOPs, System policies, federal regulations, and applicable guidelines in this area.
- Assists and interacts with faculty and staff across multiple departments to review potential conflicts in personal relationships and sponsored agreements.
- Updates and maintains COI disclosure information within the COI database in an accurate, thorough, and timely manner.
- Provides assistance and guidance related to management plans, presidential waivers, annual certifications, COI database management, and Conflict of Interest Committee meeting processes.
Institutional Conflict of Interest
- Reviews and coordinates conflicted institutional relationships.
- Maintains familiarity with Institutional policies and SOPs, System policies, federal regulations, and applicable guidelines in this area.
- Assists faculty and staff with Institutional Conflict of Interest-related questions and guidance.
- Responsible for the coordination and implementation of Institutional Conflict of Interest management plans.
Export Control
- Maintains familiarity with Institutional policies and SOPs, System policies, federal regulations, and applicable guidelines related to export control.
- Reviews export-related matters to prevent the unlicensed sharing of technology or information with restricted parties.
- Conducts thorough reviews of export control forms, reports, and sponsored research activities.
- Responds to inquiries from faculty and staff across various departments regarding export-related forms, restrictions, and regulations.
Compliance Investigations
Assists with Compliance Investigations as needed or directed by the Associate Director, Institutional Compliance and Senior Legal Officer, Institutional Compliance.
Office of International Collaboration
- Assists with daily tasks for the Office of International Collaboration as needed or directed by the Associate Director, Institutional Compliance and Senior Legal Officer, Institutional Compliance.
Other Duties
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
Required:
• Bachelor's Degree
Preferred:
• Master’s Degree
Work Experience
Required:
• 6 years of experience in a compliance related field or in research, information technology, cybersecurity, healthcare administration and/or general business as an analyst, auditor, or fraud investigator OR
• 4 years of required experience with preferred degree
• May substitute required degree with additional years of related experience on a one-to-one basis
Licenses and Certifications
Preferred (upon hire):
• Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) OR
• CHC – Certified Healthcare Compliance
