Summary
Dr. Dihua Yu is seeking a Research Assistant I to apply scientific and technical skills in carrying out various experiments independently with limited supervision, and to provide technical support for other senior research staff.
Conducts Research Experiments and Projects
Conducts research experiments and projects in scientific fields under the supervision. Prepares reagent stocks as directed by the supervisor. Manages laboratory supplies, including ordering, receiving, and shipping. Participates in regular lab meetings to discuss project goals, plan experiments, and review progress.
Preclinical Model Techniques
Experienced in performing survival surgeries under supervision; skilled in i.p. injections, oral gavage, and in collecting tissue and blood samples from mice. Proficient in breeding and managing mice.
Tissue Culture Techniques
Must have strong tissue culture skills, including maintaining, transfecting, and storing cell lines and culturing primary cells under sterile conditions. Proficiency in western blotting and qPCR is required, and experience with flow cytometry is a plus.
Operates Laboratory Apparatus and Equipment
Utilizes laboratory equipment to carry out experiments.
Data Gathering and Analysis
Accurately records, organizes, and evaluates experimental data in accordance with established methods and protocols; prepares summaries or reports as requested by the supervisor. Proficiency with statistical analysis tools is preferred.
Education
Required: Bachelor's degree, major course work in one of the basic sciences.
Experience
Required: No experience
Preferred: Prior experience in immunotherapy and cell therapy.
