The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston is one of the world's most respected centers focused on cancer patient care, research, education, and prevention. The primary purpose of the Public Safety Officer position is to screen students, patients, staff, faculty and visitors entering the facilities of the University for proper identification. Through observation and patrol, safeguard institutional property, identify security issues and enforce institutional rules and regulations. In emergencies, facilitate the orderly evacuation of the buildings and structures.

Patrols university buildings and property on foot to prevent theft, vandalism or fire.

Responds to calls for service and provides requested services in a timely manner and in accordance with policies and procedures.

Actively screens all persons entering university facilities; challenges persons without appropriate identification and all suspicious persons.

Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience Required: One year of relevant work experience.

 Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources. Valid Class A, B or C Texas driver's license.
