The Project Manager, Global Programs directs project management of domestic and international relationships for MD Anderson Cancer Center, with a primary focus on research, education and academics. The Project Manager works collaboratively with all areas in the Cancer Network.


The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston is one of the world's most respected centers focused on cancer patient care, research, education and prevention. The ideal candidate will have experience working with the MD Anderson Cancer Network. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in writing, editing and professional communications, and will have PMI Project Management Professional Certification.


This position will require national and international travel.


Salary Range

Minimum: $81,600   Midpoint: $102,000   Maximum: $122,400


Key Functions


Project Management
 
  • Provide project management to domestic and international programs by organizing appropriate stakeholders, developing project plans and timelines, documenting outcomes, and organizing meetings, visits, joint symposia and conferences.
  • Lead and direct cross functional project teams to successfully execute large, complex projects.
  • Identify risks, prepare mitigation plans for review and implement scope changes as appropriate.
  • Create and manage project budgets and work with all necessary internal and external staff to ensure appropriate expense capture and reconciliation support.

Relationships/Reports 

  • Maintains professional and cooperative relationships with stakeholders within MD Anderson and members of the Sister Institution Network, as well as other clients as assigned. This is done by interacting with a variety of executive level health care and academic professional and project contacts. Facilitates and composes comprehensive reports and proposals providing detailed background/information regarding candidate institution and framework for relationship including funding, strategy, identified collaborations, etc.
  • Ensures deliverables are professional, concise and on time.
  • Responsible for producing white papers, business plans, presentations, reports and other written deliverables to meet the needs of the Cancer Network and its relationships.

Strategic Development  

  • Implements and supports strategies to enhance collaborations with domestic and international partners; assists with strategic development of new programs and relationships.

Education

Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field.

Preferred: Master's degree.


Experience

Required: Five years of strategic planning development in a business, medical or related field and two years of responsible management experience.

With the preferred degree, three years of experience are required.

Preferred: Seven years of the required experience. Experience with writing, editing, and professional communications.


Certification

Required: None

Preferred: PMI Project Management Professional
