Summary:

The Technology, Data & Innovation (TDI) PMO Project Director for Project Management is charged with the overall responsibility of their assigned direct reports and team’s deliverables, including but not limited to scope, cost, schedule, and quality.  The Project Director will serve a dual role as the liaison for TDI Portfolio Leaders and Project Sponsors to translate strategic vision into actionable projects, identifying resource needs, and will also be responsible for managing large, complex programs and/or projects. The position assumes responsibility for initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing the projects following TDI PMO standards. This dynamic leader must possess strong people leadership, customer service, and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

.  communicate and facilitate resource allocation and constraints discussions with stakeholders, sponsors and leadership.
.  identify resources need to support programs/projects.
3. Financial Management
. support budget, financial forecast and cost analysis to ensure projects and operational expenses stay within budget.
. support reports on comprehensive financials.
4. Risk Management
. proactively identify, assess, and minimize potential risks.
. devises and initiates actions to keep programs/projects on schedule, within budget and scope.
5. Technical Expertise
. drive quality of work and deliverables assigned to the team while defining metrics for performance and championing the adoption of TDI PMO established processes and platform.
. demonstrate continued knowledge and expertise in project management capabilities, guiding principles, and best practices.
. manage programs and/or multiple large projects defining project expectations of all project stakeholders.
. collaborate with project team and end-user for input into implementation activities and deliverables.
. document decision-making and changes.
. work with technical team to document technical requirements, specifications and design for system hardware, software and architecture.
. coordinate development and delivery of testing & training for end-users and customer groups.
. coordinate development & documentation of production support model.

EDUCATION

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred: Master's Degree

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Required: 7 years Project management experience to include five years experience in application and/or infrastructure services.
  • May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
  • Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate and/or LEADing Self Discover programs may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Completion of both programs can be substituted for a maximum of two years of supervisory or management experience.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Must have direct experience leading end-to-end full- cycle enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementations.

  • Must have at least seven years of experience leading through implementation large-scale and high-complex programs and/or projects that were implemented enterprise-wide, program/project management experience with vendor management, defining project scopes, planning detailed schedules, budget cost control, quality management, execution of defined deliverables, monitoring/reporting back and closing programs/projects. 
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience with implementing technology, data and/or innovation solutions. 
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience managing direct reports. 
  • Excellent communication skills, must be proactive. 

     

Work Schedule: This position is remote but you must be willing to work onsite in the Houston, Texas Medical Center area daily or as needed. 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
