The Ideal Candidate for this position will have experience in Programmatic Management.


The primary purpose of the Program Manager of RO Research (Alliances) is to provide operational management and coordination of multi-component, complex research initiatives within industry alliances for the Division of Radiation Oncology. The scope of the responsibilities includes day-to-day administrative and project/program management of research activities, protocol development and implementation, and financial stewardship as they relate to the program.


KEY JOB FUNCTIONS
• Provides administrative, programmatic, and financial management of strategic research alliances, particular with industry partners
• Provides effective coordination and responsible, decisive actions related to the day-to-day research operations and program management of the alliances
• Coordinates with senior leadership, sponsors, the Office of Strategic Industry Ventures, and other institutional offices (as needed) to track and report milestones, research activity, and outcomes of the alliances
• Manages the meetings of the Joint Steering Committee, workgroups, and other programmatic research activities, to encompass meeting preparations, logistics, materials, agenda, and minutes.
• Archives pertinent communications, presentations, materials, and documentation
• Monitors project/program progression, deliverables, timelines, and sponsor deliverables, in conjunction with related research and administrative teams
• Establishes workflows and coordinates with Program Manager for strategic initiatives and other team members, as needed, to ensure that alliances are implemented timely, effectively, and appropriately
• Reviews program budgets for accuracy and compliance with institutional/sponsor requirements; works with the radiation oncology finance team to track expenses and provide monthly reconciliation and review; provides summarized reports of budget projections and activity to administrative and executive leadership
• Assists in resource justification and utilization for program(s)/alliance(s)
• Facilitates administrative setup of alliance projects in the Research Contracts Tracking System (RCTS), as appropriate; works with the Office of Research Finance and others for appropriate set-up and funding of projects (chart field strings)
• Utilizes institutionally available software applications (e.g., BOX, REDCap, WebEx, Skype, Outlook Calendar) to optimize collaboration and communication among internal and external stakeholders
• Composes status reports and summaries for senior leadership using MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other tools, as appropriate

Education
Required
: Bachelor's degree. 

Preferred: Master's degree.


Experience
Required
: Five years of related program management experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. With preferred degree, three years of required experience.

Preferred: Experience in Programmatic management. Previous experience working in finance in a research environment.
