The Primary purpose of the Program Manager position in the Chief Quality Office is to provide expertise in data collection, analysis, and analytics and manage Vizient reporting efforts such as the Operation Data Base Action OI reporting. This position will be responsible for coordinating and reporting accurate data as well as performing statistical analysis in support of quality projects and institutional quality operations.



  1. Manage Vizient Operational Data Base

    • Manages implementation of the institution’s ODB Action OI program

      1. Ensures all implementation deadlines are met

      2. Collaborates with ODB Data Submission Associate and ODB Product Advisor to ensure successful implementation and future program sustainability

    • Reports accurate and comprehensive data

      1. Maps the hospital cost centers to the ODB tool that are available reporting departments

      2. Maps the General Ledger expense sub-accounts & payroll job codes to the appropriate data elements.

      3. Manages the collection of all facility cost center level information

      4. Ensures data elements are reported according to ODB guidelines

      5. Completes the data submission by the quarterly submission deadline

    • Serves as the facility’s direct contact for all department manager needs including onboarding new managers with respect to their roles/responsibilities/expectations related to the ODB

    • Liaisons with Vizient ODB program and for networking with peer hospitals

    • Maintains user access to the ODB tool

    • Reviews Vizient communications to stay current in program updates and best practices for data submission and reporting utilization

    • Participates in Vizient led discussions, projects, and learning opportunities


  1. Provide Vizient Reporting & Education

    • Creates and maintain compare groups for relevant benchmarking using Vizient data

    • Disseminates reports to stakeholders and helps executives/managers interpret Vizient reports

    • Creates materials to inform and educate the institution on Vizient activities

      1. Conducts department manager report training as needed including education on control charts

      2. Facilitates employee awareness of the benchmarking process

      3. Understands risk methodology and be able to explain it effectively to others


  1. Prepare Statistical Reports

    • Independently prepares statistical considerations and carries out statistical analyses for basic and complex projects

    • Develops complex data sets and new statistical methodology for the measurement and analysis of data as needed

    • Assesses relevant literature as well as existing data, evaluates the quality of data used in reports and assists with preparation and distribution of data

    • Advises project team on various methodologies for the measurement and analysis of data

    • Demonstrates understanding of fundamental data analyses concepts and methodologies, utilize analytical and problem solving skills, and programming knowledge to identify the appropriate data elements that can be utilized to resolve the questions

    • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of performance and quality measures

    • Demonstrates understanding and application of basic quality tools and software (such as Statit, Minitab, SAS, SPSS, MS Project, MS Excel, Visio, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)




Required: Bachelor's degree.

Preferred: Master's degree.



Required: Five years of related program management experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.

With preferred degree, three years of required experience.

Preferred: Experience with Vizient.
