Program Director, Corporate Cause Alliances

SUMMARY
The Program Director for Corporate Cause Alliances oversees and implements MD Anderson’s corporate cause marketing strategy to increase brand awareness and engage customers, organizational leadership, and other corporate stakeholders through mission-related messages as they join in MD Anderson’s mission to end cancer. This position builds and maintains strong relationships with corporations to develop mutually beneficial campaigns in alignment with existing goals. In addition, this position also oversees campaign execution, including brand ambassadors, events, collateral and outcome measurement. Working closely with other institutional affairs teams, this position manages collaborations with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation and execution of corporate cause marketing campaigns.
KEY FUNCTIONS
Corporate strategy and execution. Develops and optimizes Corporate Cause Alliances’ strategy to increase brand awareness and engage corporations in MD Anderson’s mission through creative and effective cause-marketing campaigns. Plays a lead role in overall institutional corporate and cause alliance initiatives. Identifies and evaluates new corporate opportunities ensuring alignment with Cause Alliances, Philanthropy and the overall institutional Strategy. In collaboration with the Director, Corporate and Sponsorship Alliances, conceptualizes and develops campaign pitches, strategies, and messaging to share with potential cause marketing partners. Manages short and long-term strategy focusing on program efficiency and growth. Recommends new events, campaigns or programs that strengthen MD Anderson’s cause positioning, increase fundraising and/or strengthen collaboration across all of the Cause Alliances department.
Campaign management. Oversees corporate cause marketing campaigns to ensure relationship expectations and project goals are met. Identifies new tactics for current and new corporate alliances to improve outcomes. Manages and reviews all brand assets ensuring compliance with usage guidelines. Creates reports to monitor campaign activities and metrics. Develops presentations on campaign outcomes for leadership and other key stakeholders. Cultivates and grows relationships with current allies to enhance and reinvigorate existing campaigns.
Leadership and financial stewardship. Provides direction and management of Corporate Cause Alliances team, including the recruitment, direction and evaluation of staff. Assists the Director, Corporate and Sponsorship Alliances with developing an annual budget. Manages contracts and tracks expenses. Attains strong knowledge of MD Anderson programs and services to effectively promote and represent the institution to all community constituents.

Education
Required: Bachelor's degree in in English, Journalism, Public Relations, Communications or related field or Master's degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations, Communications or related field.
Experience
Required: Seven years of experience public relations, communications, writing/editing or related field and three years of project management / leadership / supervisory experience. With preferred Masters degree, five years of required experience. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate and/or LEADing Self Discover programs may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Completion of both programs can be substituted for a maximum of two years of supervisory or management experience.
Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
Preferred: Must have people management experience. Prior experience with cause marketing, campaign marketing, or corporate alliances is highly desirable.
This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code and therefore may require routine reviews and screening. The ability to satisfy and maintain all requirements necessary to ensure the continued security and integrity of such infrastructure is a condition of hire and continued employment.
