Professor, Clinical Faculty Appointment (CFA), CRITICAL CARE

 SUMMARY

The Department of Pediatrics Patient Care at UT MD Anderson is seeking a full-time faculty position at the level of Professor, Clinical Faculty Appointment to join the team. The clinical faculty position will provide robust, interdisciplinary critical care to infants, children, adolescents, and AYA's suffering from life-threatening, life-limiting, and terminal diseases.

 SCOPE

This clinical faculty position in the Division of Pediatrics will: 

  • Provide clinical expertise in pediatric care.
  • Provide an appropriate teaching environment for fellows, residents, and students, including delivery of lectures and bedside teaching. 
  • Participate and collaborate with the department's ongoing research program and scholarly work to enhance the academic environment of the department.
  • Possess strong communication skills to communicate with patients, family members, hospital staff and other faculty members within the Institution.

This position has a target base salary of $293,114293,114 To $339,316339,316 and is eligible for incentive compensation, comprehensive health, wellness, time off, savings, and retirement benefits, as well as relocation support, as applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Children’s Hospital at UT MD Anderson evaluates 700-800 new patients and consultations annually, many of whom seek care for aggressive malignancy. Resources abound for significant contributions to understanding pediatric malignancy through interactions both within and outside of pediatrics, strengthening strategic alliances with pharmaceutical companies and promoting interdisciplinary/interdepartmental clinical activities and translational research programs to advance therapies. The candidate should have skills to lead and develop new clinical/translational programs and should have demonstrated excellence and extensive clinical training and research accomplishments in the area. We have an active fellowship program, faculty participation in COG, a survivorship program, and a vibrant supportive care program.

The candidate must have completed an M.D. or DO degree from an accredited medical school or equivalent, must have completed residency training in an approved American Pediatric residency program or equivalent, be board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics or foreign equivalent if applicable. In addition, the candidate must be board certified in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics or foreign equivalent if applicable, or obtain Pediatric Critical Care Medicine board certification within five years of employment. Must be licensed as a physician in the state of Texas.  Must have 5 years as an Associate Professor or equivalent or 15 years post clinical degree
