Phlebotomist - Leukemia

Education

• Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Preferred: Associate's Degree Medical Laboratory Technician Program or completion of a specialized phlebotomy training program.

Work Experience

• Required: Completion of a MD Anderson phlebotomy internship or six months of phlebotomy experience in a clinical laboratory or with preferred education, only three months of phlebotomy experience in a clinical laboratory required
• Preferred: Four or more years of experience with patient-facing responsibilities, long-draw phlebotomy, and clinical or research exposure

Licenses and Certifications

• Preferred: CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification American Society of Clinical Pathologist Board of Registry (BOR) or American Certification Agency (ACA) upon hire and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) upon hire
