Patient Care Technician (PCT or CNA) - Ambulatory Treatment Center
Seeking an experienced Patient Care Technician or Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at the Woodlands area location. With multiple locations around Houston, our experience and services extend into your neighborhood. MD Anderson provides medical oncology, radiation oncology and surgical oncology services along with a range of supportive programs at all of its greater Houston area locations. At MD Anderson The Woodlands, patients in The Woodlands, Spring, Conroe and communities north of Houston have access to top-ranked, comprehensive cancer care close to home.
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of direct patient care experience, preferably within oncology or an outpatient ambulatory care setting. The schedule for this position is Monday – Friday, 8 hours. Must have the flexibility to work within the hours of operation of 7am-6pm.

KEY FUNCTIONS
Partners with Health Care Team:
• Complete routine or advanced patient care assignments as delegated.
• Understands critical changes to patient status and reports concerns to appropriate nursing staff.
• Works with multidisciplinary team members to identify and address patient care needs.
• Participates in team and peer evaluations.
• Demonstrates superior customer service in all interactions with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues.
Supports Patients:
• Aids in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit/discharge, and vital signs in a patient setting.
• Utilizes validated advanced skills to support multidisciplinary goals aimed at assisting patients in reaching maximum functionality.
• Encourages patients in progression of wellness and promotes independence.
Work Environment:
• Maintains environment in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
• Participates in unit projects focused on improving patient outcomes.
• Demonstrates knowledge and utilization of computers, equipment, and software programs to enter patient data, access information, and communicate with the multidisciplinary team.
EDUCATION
- Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Preferred: At least one year of direct patient care experience.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Preferred: CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant Upon Hire
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
