Ideal candidate will have a BSN degree and a Master's degree in nursing or healthcare related field with five years of clinical nursing experience in oncology or assigned specialty practice area, preferably in nursing education or instructor experience.

**This position will support the Houston Area Locations (HALs).**

Function- Provides expertise in nursing professional development.

Scope- Impacts the quality of patient care provided by nurses.

Essential Job Functions- Develops, implements and evaluates evidence-based nursing professional development programs.  Facilities training and/education.  Documents and retains records.  Serves as a consultant/member to nurses. 

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS 

Education 

Required:  Master's degree in Nursing -OR- Bachelor's degree in Nursing and Master's degree in a healthcare related field.

Preferred:  Master's degree in Nursing with an education concentration.  

Experience

Required:   Five years clinical nursing experience in oncology or assigned specialty practice area.

Preferred:  For nursing education, two years of preceptor or instructor experience. 

Licensure/Certification 

Required:   Current State of Texas Professional Nursing License (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.

Preferred:  Certification in oncology or specialty practice area.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS),  ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification as required by patient care area.
