Medical Assistant - Endocrine Center
In the Endocrine Center, our renowned experts use a multidisciplinary approach to offer unparalleled and comprehensive care to our patients through robust clinical research teams, education, and advanced technology. Our clinical teams treat patients with endocrine diseases that are benign or malignant, as well as other conditions that impact the endocrine system.
Medical Assistant opportunity in the Endocrine Center. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of Medical Assistant experience. Prior oncology experience is a plus. We are looking for an experienced Medical Assistant to join our growing team! This is a high-volume center where we see New Patient, Consult, and Follow-up, in-person and virtual visits. For candidates interested in procedures, our Head and Neck faculty perform Nanosecond Pulsed Field Ablation (nsPFA) and Radiofrequency Ablation (RA) in the center.
Shift : Monday – Friday 7:00am- 5:30pm (8 hour shift assigned based on business needs)
Salary: $43,000 minimum - $54,000 midpoint - $65,000 maximum
Hourly breakdown of salary range: Minimum $20.67 – Midpoint $25.96 – Maximum $31.25
This position would be suitable for a candidate that enjoys working in a high-energy environment taking vitals, heights, weights, conducting patient intakes, giving handoff reports to clinical teams, cross-covering clinics, performing High Level Disinfection (HLD), performing point-of-care testing (POCT), assisting with procedures, working with rhino-laryngoscopes, administrative work, and other duties as assigned.

Summary
The primary purpose of the Medical Assistant position is to act as the lead technical assistant in preparing patients for medical visits and procedures.
Key Functions
• Assists with patient examinations, treatments and procedures.
• Prepares / stocks rooms and escorts patients to rooms.
• Obtains vital signs and prepares patients for physician's care.
• Documents in the medical record patient care entries and completed lab work.
• Reviews and sorts incoming lab results and forwards reports for review.
• Collects laboratory specimens and performs waived laboratory testing (such as finger stick glucose and EKG tests).
• Provides transportation of patients for discharge or transfer to other areas in the hospital.
• Cleans, stores, prepares and coordinates maintenance of medical equipment.
• Maintains inventories of laboratory and medical supplies.
• Instructs patients as to test preparations according to planned procedure.
• Other duties as assigned.
Education
Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred: Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program or US Military medical services training program.
Work Experience
Required: One year of medical assistant experience. With preferred education no experience is required.
Preferred: One year of medical assistant experience. Prior oncology experience is a plus.
Certification
Preferred: Certified by one of the following based on Medical Assistant experience or preferred education:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by the American Society of Medical Technologists (AMT)
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
