Education
Required: Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Enzymology, Pharmacology, Chemistry or related field.
Experience
Required: Eighteen months of relevant research laboratory experience. With preferred degree, no required experience.
Ideal candidate must have an understanding of biological processes including cell biology and molecular. This position requires knowledge and understanding of how to use in vitro and in vivo validation assays. Experience with cell-based assay formats and previous work with animal models is desirable. Specifically, the applicant should have working knowledge of cell based models (i.e. Soft agar, migration, invasion, etc.) utilizing common methods and reagents (i.e. RNAi, dose response curves with small molecule inhibitors, Westerns, ELISAs, etc.). These will be used to evaluate novel targets and therapeutics. Experience with cell culture techniques and a willingness to work with in vivo models is essential. The position requires a highly self-motivated individual, with outstanding organizational skills, the ability to effectively present results and conclusions to co-workers, collaborators and manager. Ability to work well under pressure and drive personal and team objectives that impact critical timelines is expected. A collaborative attitude is essential for this position. Previous hands-on experience working with cell-based assays and animal models. Previous experience in an oncology research laboratory. Experience utilizing lentiviral or retroviral systems to perform genetic studies with cancer cell lines.
