Bachelor's degree. Two years business experience to include administration, data analysis or accounting. May substitute required experience with additional years of education on a one to one year basis. Education

Required: BA or BS from an accredited college or university.    

Preferred: Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., business, accounting, or public administration)

License/Certification       

Required: None.

Preferred: Certified Research Administrator or other industry-accepted credentials

Experience

            Required:

  • Excellent analytical skills (e.g. ability to accurately analyze multiple data sets)
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines
  • Effective written and oral communication skills (e.g. ability to communicate with others in a clear and professional manner)
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills (e.g., ability to work with personnel at all levels to gather information and communicate compliance requirements)
  • Strong proficiency in financial analytical tools, such as Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret sponsored programs policies, procedures, federal regulations and guidelines (such as contract and notice of award documents)
  • Experience using financial accounting systems or fund accounting systems
  • Experience developing and providing training programs
  • Experience drafting policies and procedures
  • Experience in complex problem solving
  • Two years or more professional experience in research administration

           Preferred:

  • Two years of Post-Award experience, specifically in Subrecipient Monitoring
  • PeopleSoft ERP and Grants Module preferred
  • Administrative/business experience in an academic medical center research setting
