Pre-Award Management: 
  Manages grant administration for the research faculty,
  Works closely with the Grant Program Coordinator (GPC) and coordinates submission activities related to grant applications, and ensures compliance with institutional policies and procedures,
  Communicates with the Office of Grants and Contracts, Office of Research Administration, OSP and NIH regarding grant preparation/submission, including sub-contracts, core grants, etc.,
  Communicates with Sub-contract personnel at other institutions regarding deadlines, budgets and other requirements for collaborative grants,
  Develops and reviews research/grant budgets for accuracy and compliance with institutional and sponsoring agency requirements,
  Meets with faculty to determine their research needs for both grant support and general funding,
  Provides excel spreadsheets with updated information on periodic reports,
  Processes Advance Setup requests,
  Works closely and assists faculty with Multi-PI awards (SPORE, MIRA, etc.),
  Assists with submitting proposals during high volume submission season.

Post-Award Administration: 
  Meets with faculty when award is funded to go over the process and discuss what is allowable,
• Evaluates the Principal Investigator’s research plan, purchases and personnel to determine if compliance has been met, budget is spent according to proposed budget and milestones are submitted and/or met,
  Monitors, audits, and advises on the reallocation of funds and transfer of expenses as deemed appropriate according to sponsoring agency deadlines,
  Completes progress reports (Milestone, Annual and Final),
  Prepares BAFs, BTR and other requests such as NCEs, PLOE’s, waivers (Salary/F&A), etc.,
  Works with Financial Analyst to review Federal Financial Reports (FFR) upon receipt from Grants and Contracts,
  Processes project closeouts including addressing unused funds, equipment disposition, intellectual property, etc.,
  Meets as needed with Principal Investigators to proactively review grant funding status, research personnel support and deadlines and to ensure compliance with prior approval requirements of each funding agency,
  Processes ePAFs in coordination with the Financial Analyst,
  Communicates with SubK team regarding sub-award setups, contracts/amendments and closures,
  Mentors and develops others in the grant program process.

Departmental Support: 

  Manages quarterly effort reporting for the Department in ECC system,
  In conjunction with the Department Administrator (DA), Financial Analyst and faculty, assists with developing forecasting models to monitor current funding and determine future needs to avoid over and under spending of grant funds,
  Serves as the Space Representative and works closely with the DA for completion of the annual space survey.

Other duties as assigned

Education:

Required: Bachelor's degree. 

Experience:

Required: Two years of grant management experience such as grant writing, grant submission and financial administration and one year of lead or supervisory experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one year basis. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate and/or LEADing Self Discover programs may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Completion of both programs can be substituted for a maximum of two years of supervisory or management experience. 

Preferred: Prior grant, pre- award, and post- award grant experience

Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources
