Clinical Nurse – Vascular Access and Procedures (Day/Evening Shift)
The Clinical Nurse in Vascular Access and Procedures provides specialized care for oncology patients requiring infusion therapy. This role is part of a nationally recognized team responsible for peripheral and central line insertions, device maintenance, complication management, and patient education. Working in a Magnet Recognized hospital, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and contribute to MD Anderson’s mission of excellence in cancer care.
Hourly breakdown of salary range:
Minimum $32.69 - Midpoint $48.56 - Maximum $64.42

PLUS – nurses will earn up to $8,320 in annual unit-based differentials for all inpatient units.
Clinical Nurses relocating from 100+ miles from MD Anderson will also qualify for up to $10,000 in relocation assistance!
The Ideal Candidate will have the following:
• At least two years of acute care experience
• Recent infusion therapy experience
• Experience in vascular access, PICC line placement, and ultrasound-guided procedures
• The ability to demonstrate clinical excellence, strong communication skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and deliver patient care in the assigned vascular access and procedures unit
• Assess patient needs and coordinate care with physicians, multidisciplinary teams, and families
• Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions to achieve optimal outcomes
• Integrate research findings into clinical practice and contribute to ongoing data collection
• Demonstrate competency in vascular access procedures, medication administration, and emergency response
• Document patient care accurately using electronic health records
• Ensure continuity of care through discharge planning, patient education, and coordination of services
• Advocate for patient rights and provide compassionate, patient-centered care
• Mentor and support team members to promote clinical excellence and resource efficiency

EDUCATION
• Required: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree Nursing.
WORK EXPERIENCE
• Preferred: Two years of acute care experience. Experience in Vascular Access, PICC line placement, and/or ultrasound-guided procedures. Recent infusion therapy experience.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: All clinical nurses with less than one year of registered nurse (RN) work experience will be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program.
