The primary purpose of the Coordinator, Research Data position is to perform basic level lab-specific activities related to human research projects and studies, requiring judgment, initiative, and independent decision making. The duties of Research Data Coordinator include capturing, entering and processing physiological data (e.g. EEG data) and providing laboratory maintenance support. Duties also include monitoring study telephone lines and assisting with participant recruitment, tracking and documentation.

The ideal Research Data Coordinator will have experience with electroencephalography (EEG).

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Physiological Data collection and Lab Maintenance Responsible for collecting and processing lab-specific physiological data for various human research studies including EEG, rTMS and fMRI studies. Data related tasks include data uploading and archiving, data processing using EEG-specific software such as BESA and Brain Vision Analyzer, and maintaining detailed logs for all data related activities. The Research Data Coordinator is also responsible for lab maintenance, including tracking lab equipment and supplies.

Study Recruitment, Tracking and Documentation Monitoring study line, triaging phone calls and adding prospective subjects to appropriate database (REDCap, Meeting Room Manager, etc.). Screening potential participants for eligibility over the phone or in person, scheduling study visits, and conducting reminder calls and emails to ensure participant compliance. Consenting research participants and collecting data in the clinic and the laboratory.  Obtaining physiological measurements, including heart rate, height, weight, expired carbon monoxide levels, and ECG when applicable, as well as urine and/or saliva specimen collection, and testing/processing of specimens. Tracking and monitoring study participation and attendance. Dispensing participant compensation, including gift cards, reloadable debit cards, and parking/metro validations. Maintaining documentation of all protocol-specific activities.

Study Communication and planning Communicating with PI, Clinical Study Coordinator, BRTC team (or other space providers), schedulers, and counselors when necessary through oral and written communication regarding project related issues and/or patient care issues. Attending and participating in weekly team meetings and other regularly scheduled project meetings aimed at discussing recruitment goals/status, protocol and/or procedural changes.

Education

Required: High school diploma or equivalent or Bachelor's degree

Experience

Required: Two years of related experience. With Bachelor's degree, no experience required.

Preferred: Prior experience working with electroencephalography (EEG). RedCap experience is a plus.
