Director, Oncology Early-Stage Clinical Development
EDUCATION
Required: PhD and/or MD from an accredited university
EXPERIENCE
Required:
· Seven (7) years of experience in oncology drug development in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company. Experience also must include supervisory and leadership experience.
· Strong understanding of molecular oncology and the genetics of cancer.
· Deep expertise in Oncology with an in-depth knowledge of disease pathophysiology, cancer biology, novel drug targets and emerging therapies in development in Oncology.
· Demonstrated track record of innovative study designs that focus on the molecular characterization of tumors to define patient enrollment and eligibility, and biomarkers of early response.
· Demonstrated results-focus and ability to deliver projects through lateral influence, relationship management, negotiation and facilitation.
· Fluency in English. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Ability to multi-task and work in a face paced environment.
· Ability to work and manage people in a matrix environment and to effectively interact with functional areas and CROs outside his/her span of controls.
· Strong peer networks within the pharmaceutical industry and/or academia is a plus
Preferred: Successfully led several first-in-human clinical studies in Oncology. Immune-oncology experience. Board certified or eligible in Oncology. Preferred candidate has demonstrated track record as an innovator in the pharmaceutical industry or in a similar large organization.
