Endocrine is looking for a Coordinator, Diabetes Educator!!!

Cancers of endocrine glands are rare, but their optimal treatment requires the same attentive diagnosis and therapy as more common malignancies. MD Anderson's Endocrine Neoplasia and Hormonal Disorders department provides comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for patients with endocrine system tumors, both malignant and benign.
Our endocrinologists collaborate with our surgeons, oncologists, radiologists and pathologists to provide dedicated state-of-the-art patient care, while performing clinical research to evaluate how best to apply the most recent developments in cancer medicine. As part of this approach we provide comprehensive services for patients who were diagnosed with diabetes mellitus as a result of their cancer treatment. Our Glycemic Management Program assists other providers with their patients with glycemic disorders.

The ideal candidate is a patient-centered diabetes education professional with strong clinical expertise and demonstrated ability to develop, deliver, and evaluate comprehensive, culturally relevant diabetes education plans. They are skilled in conducting diabetes-specific physical, educational, and psychosocial assessments; supporting patients with complex self-management needs through appropriate interventions, insulin dose adjustments, and medication protocols; and collaborating closely with primary care and specialty providers. This candidate excels in interdisciplinary teamwork, providing education to patients, caregivers, nursing staff, and providers; performing glycemic surveillance; supporting discharge planning; and creating tailored educational materials for diverse care settings and technologies. They also contribute to strategic program development through staff training, participation in education and clinical research, cross-departmental collaboration, and support of initiatives such as ADA certification for diabetes self-management education programs.

At MD Anderson, we offer careers built on care, growth, and balance. Our employees enjoy a benefits package designed to support every stage of life, starting on day one.

Paid employee medical benefits (zero premium) starting on first day for employees who work 30 or more hours per week
