Institutional  Analytics & Informatics Vision:

Enable informatics and analytics across service lines by providing the right information to the right people at the right time with the right tools. The Institutional  Analytics & Informatics team is focused on building the infrastructure and creating the capabilities necessary for sustainable clinical data delivery.  With ongoing changes in the national health care environment, data will be increasingly required to optimize medical practice.  Effective health care delivery must be of high quality and at a reasonable cost.  Clinical information management using enterprise-wide vocabularies, data modeling, business intelligence solutions and natural language processing are key enabling technologies.  We are the enterprise data architects and infrastructure experts.

Complex Data Analysis 

Complex data acquisition, analysis and reporting at the enterprise level.

Performs requirements gathering and analysis. Identify and scope the client’s problem and needs and actively gather detailed requirements. 

Analyze requirements to develop initial design concept and technical approach that supports institutional decision-making with regard to clinical, research, financial, or operational requirements. 

Manages client relationships by serving as a trusted technical/business subject matter expert and advisor to client personnel.

Reviews and evaluates data requirements for decision support purposes. Performs problem solving and formulation and testing of hypotheses and complex analysis of data. 

Designs simple to complex queries using structure query language and ensures analytic methodologies are followed and makes recommendations where necessary. 

Determines whether integration effort can be performed within the reporting deliverable or requires additional  integration efforts. 

Promotes institutional data management strategies.


Integration Design & Development 

Participates in reviewing analytics integration design requirements and to develop programming specifications, which meet operational/data warehousing requirements.  

Provide problem-solving expertise and complex analysis of data to develop analytics integration designs

Develops analytic solutions in accordance with departmental and institutional guidelines or methodologies to integrate data for reporting/analytical environments.  

Development tasks include feasibility, design, programming, testing, documentation, and implementation. 

The development efforts will also include mapping data sources to dimensional or reporting models, developing the necessary reporting/analytical models, as well as the necessary scheduling efforts to ensure the processes are in proper sequence.  

Analytics integration solutions include coordinating activities between customers and/or Information System teams/departments.


Production Support  

Provides support and maintenance of analytics applications and reports.  Triages and provides immediate support to the user community, and coordinates full resolution and documentation providing 2nd level support applications, and reporting platforms with responsibility 100% of the time. 

Develops long-term corrective measures and communicates them to the appropriate management team/colleagues/customer members.

 

 **In order to be adequately prepared and trained to build, test and optimize the Epic system, MDA requires that Epic certification be obtained within 120 days of completion of the assigned, required training classes. Required certifications must be maintained as assigned.**


Education Required:

Bachelor's degree.


Certification Required:

None


Preferred Certification: Any of the following:

Epic Clarity Data Model certification

Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)

Certified Professional in Health Information Management (CPHIMS)

Data Science Specialization/Certification

Big Data Specialization/Certification


Experience Required:

Four years of integration programming and/or systems level experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis or completed years of college on a one to one basis.


Preferred Experience: 

Complex SQL experience

Prior experience in complex data analysis, preferably in the clinical domain.

Healthcare industry experience.

Prior data warehouse and business intelligence solutions experience.
