The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is a leading institution focused on cancer care, research, education, and prevention. Within the Materials Mgmt Services Ops department, the Customer Service Specialist supports customer-facing supply chain operations that are essential to warehouse fulfillment, inventory support, delivery coordination, and service continuity. The Customer Service Specialist serves as a key resource for resolving operational issues and maintaining effective communication across multiple functional areas.
 

UT MD Anderson relies on high-performing professionals to deliver exceptional service and operational excellence. The Customer Service Specialist works closely with Distribution, Inventory Management, Procurement, and operational teams to address customer needs, support order fulfillment activities, and ensure timely resolution of service-related concerns. The Customer Service Specialist plays an important role in maintaining customer confidence and supporting uninterrupted operations.


The ideal candidate has an Associate's Degree, with a Bachelor's Degree preferred, along with substantial business and administrative experience that includes retail or ecommerce exposure. Successful candidates demonstrate strong customer service skills, operational coordination experience, problem-solving abilities, warehouse distribution experience, and the ability to communicate effectively across multiple teams while managing service recovery and fulfillment-related concerns.


Salary Range (Hourly Equivalent): Minimum $21.88 – Midpoint $27.40 – Maximum $32.93
Work Week: Days ( Monday - Friday from 7am -3:30pm)
Work Location: Onsite

Responsibilities


Customer Service Operations & Service Recovery
• Serve as the primary point of escalation for customer concerns related to warehouse fulfillment, deliveries, backorders, stock availability, and service requests
• Coordinate resolution of customer issues through collaboration with Distribution, Inventory Management, Procurement, and operational teams
• Ensure customer interactions are handled professionally, timely, and with a focus on restoring confidence and maintaining continuity of care
Warehouse Coordination & Order Fulfillment Excellence
• Oversee daily customer service workflows supporting order fulfillment, replenishment requests, emergency deliveries, and supply inquiries
• Monitor service levels and operational metrics to ensure customer expectations and departmental standards are achieved
• Coordinate communication across warehouse functions to minimize delays and improve order accuracy
• Support contingency planning during supply interruptions, urgent requests, and high-volume operational periods


Communication & Service Coordination
• Ensure proactive communication regarding backorders, delivery delays, product substitutions, and operational impacts
• Facilitate effective information flow between CSC teams and customer departments to support informed decision-making

 

EDUCATION

  • Required: Associate's Degree
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Required: 4 years General business and administrative experience, to include one year of experience in retail or ecommerce
  • : May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
  • Preferred: Warehouse distribution, AI experience, and customer service experience a plus.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
