SUMMARY
This clinical psychotherapist position is a non-faculty position responsible to the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) supervisor, who reports to the department administrator and department chair. The primary purpose of the clinical psychotherapist is to provide collaborative services for other departments and provide primary outpatient psychotherapy and to participate in the institution's educational mission by continuously develop programs to promote health and disease prevention.
KEY FUNCTIONS
Percent Effort: 90% Clinical, 10% Administrative
Clinical 90%
· Practice psychotherapy commensurate with training and licensure.
· Develop and maintain a psychotherapy practice for patients referred to the MD Anderson Cancer Center.
· Place charges appropriately using current CPT codes and DSM V/ICD-10 diagnoses.
· Complete patient documentation for medical records within periods provided by the institution.
· It requires dictating clearly and concisely and having a visual review of documents.
· Correspond as appropriate in writing or telephone conversations with referring physicians regarding patient care and treatment.
· Keep abreast of current approaches in the management of patients through attendance at continuing education conferences in the specialty. This will require listening to and assimilating information from the conference.
· Documentation of appropriate consultations with other physicians for psychiatric therapy patients by phone or in writing.
· Provide peer review for assessing the clinical practice of faculty within the department.
· Must be able to work within very intense interpersonal relationships, including with physicians, patients, and colleagues.

EDUCATION - Masters or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or related field.
Required WORK EXPERIENCE - 5 years Post-masters clinical experience in Psychotherapy.
Required LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS - LCSW - Licensed Clinical Social Worker Texas or Licensed Prof Counselor - LPC or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist LMFT or Licensed Psychologist
