G11 Hospital Medicine P12A is a 32-bed inpatient unit providing care to medical oncology inpatients with a diagnosis of solid tumor malignancies; primary services include genitourinary, breast, and internal medicine. Patients require nursing interventions for the management of chronic and acute disease related symptoms, pain control, and treatment related side effects; the administration of chemotherapy, bio immunotherapy and targeted therapy; and patient and family teaching.  They serve a mainly adult population (20-60 years). 

 

Identifies quality and process improvements. Leads and collaborates with the interprofessional team in planning delivery and evaluation of patient-focused care. Coordinates and integrates care with the interprofessional team for a cohort of patients from admission through discharge. Analyzes patient data and outcomes.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Nursing and Master's degree in a healthcare field.

EXPERIENCE: Five years clinical nursing experience to include three years of oncology nursing experience. With preferred degree, three years of oncology nursing. Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. Certification in quality or specialty focused area.
