The Facilities BIM team is advancing MD Anderson’s mission of making cancer history through innovative and transformational engineering, technology and sustainable solutions to develop and maintain intelligent, safe and efficient facilities that promote healing and discovery. The Building Systems group supports employees and visitors by delivering reliable power, monitoring, communication, and operational services through teams specializing in Building Operations Technologies, High Voltage Power Systems, Outage Coordination, Two‑Way Radios, Vertical Conveyance, and Work Control Coordination.

The ideal candidate will have proficiency in Autodesk Construction Cloud (Autodesk Forma). This role will primarily focus on system administration, project setup, and managing roles and permissions within ACC Docs (Forma Data Management). It will also support Build (Forma Build) activities, including the creation, monitoring, and deployment of the Asset Module. Electronic CAD files and 3D models will be maintained within this environment for both internal and external stakeholders. This position will serve as the primary technical administrator for the Autodesk Construction Cloud platform.

The salary range is $49,500 - $69,000 - $74,500

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Staff comes in every other Wednesday and when required to be onsite (meetings, field work, etc.).

The primary objective is to ensure the accuracy, organization, and accessibility of master as-built drawings, which are critical for the institution’s operations and compliance. By maintaining an up-to-date MDA Library and producing precise documentation, the role supports efficient project execution, reduces costly errors and/or compliance gaps, and enhances collaboration among internal departments and external AEC stakeholders.

The primary purpose of the CADD/Building Information Modeling (BIM) Specialist position in Engineering Building System Management is to provide drawing maintenance and support for the consolidation of information from facility change events into master drawing files managed in the electronic document management system.  Under the guidance of others the CADD/BIM Specialist uses technical knowledge to investigate the drawing database and maintain accuracy to field conditions and quality standards.  Ensures the data integrity is maintained throughout the lifecycle of master drawings and in the production of drawing reports.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Electronically produces drawings according to established man-hour budgets. Plots database "background" drawings as requested. Electronic, digital files are organized and maintained per MD Anderson Cancer Center drawing and file naming standards. Assists with maintaining department's technical reference library. Assists in the development of record documents of "as built" conditions. Assists with field inspections and verification of existing conditions.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
Maintains existing condition master drawings  Uses design software capabilities for the consolidation of project as-built records into master existing condition drawings representing all building discipline system information, including but not limited to Mechanical (HVAC, HVAC Piping, Risers), Electrical (Lighting, Power, Security Special Systems, One-lines Diagrams, Risers), Plumbing (Medical Gas, Plumbing Piping, Risers), Architectural, and Civil (Underground Utilities). Capable of proficiently reading and understanding all disciplines and building systems of as-built construction documents to add as-built information to existing “master files” using CAD and/or Building Information Modeling.

Ensures drawing accuracy to field conditions  Applies knowledge of construction practices to investigate the details of drawing content and maintains accuracy to field conditions.  Collaborates with internal engineering and operations teams to coordinate verification.

Maintains required drawing data integrity   Maintains data integrity in applied technologies through quality control procedures, while adhering to MD Anderson Cancer Center drawing, layer and naming standards, and the use of employed electronic document management practices.

Primary Technical Support & Creation of Autodesk Construction Cloud   
Create and set up MDA Autodesk Construction Cloud (Autodesk Forma) projects, deploy ACC Docs for Records Management per Texas retention guidelines, support stakeholders, and provide training on ACC and ACC Build Asset Module.

EDUCATION

  • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree and
  • Preferred: Completed college courses in engineering drafting technology.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Required: One year Experience. or
  • Required: Specialized CADD training can be substituted for experience.
  • Preferred: Two years With direct involvement with a professional firm producing bid documents.  
  • Preferred: Proficient in Autodesk Construction Cloud (Autodesk Forma): project setup, roles and permissions, ACC Docs/Forma Data Management support, and Build/Forma Build monitoring with intermediate–proficient Asset Module skills.
