Blood Donor Technician - Mobile Blood Drives
Education
Required:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred:
• Associate's Degree from a Medical Laboratory Technician Program OR
• Completion of a specialized phlebotomy training program
Work Experience
Required:
• Completion of a MD Anderson phlebotomy internship or six months of phlebotomy experience in a clinical laboratory OR
• With preferred education, only three months of phlebotomy experience in a clinical laboratory required
Licenses and Certifications
Required:
• TDL – Texas Drivers License: Class A, B, or C valid Texas driver's license depending on the type and weight of vehicle to be operated and number of passengers to be carried (within 90 Days)
• Good driving record as verified with the Texas Department of Transportation (Upon Hire)
Preferred (upon hire):
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) AND
• CPT – Phlebotomy Technician Certification: American Society of Clinical Pathologist Board of Registry (BOR) OR
• DPT-ASCP – Donor Phlebotomy Technician: Donor Phlebotomy certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologist Board of Registry (BOR) OR
• American Certification Agency (ACA) OR
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
