Associate Director, Clinical Nursing - Stem Cell Unit

Salary range:
Minimum $149,500 - Midpoint $187,000 - Maximum $224,500
Job Summary
Responsible for the delivery of evidenced based inpatient services in a complex oncology inpatient environment requiring 24 hour, 7 day a week supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Sets strategic priorities and operational tactics in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and/or Clinical Administrative Director to support institutional, divisional, and departmental goals.
- Maintains accountability for care delivery and operational outcomes across the assigned 48-bed inpatient unit, including clinical quality, patient safety, patient experience, productivity, financial performance, throughput, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Provides leadership, direction, coaching, and professional development opportunities for clinical nurses, charge nurses, and support staff to foster a high-performing team.
- Directs, delegates, and oversees daily patient care operations to ensure safe, efficient, evidence-based care and achievement of nursing and patient care excellence standards.
- Promotes a positive and healthy work environment by cultivating a culture of engagement, accountability, innovation, growth, and professional development.
- Supports and advances clinical competency, evidence-based practice, certification, succession planning, and ongoing professional development for nursing and support staff.
- Collaborates with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and quality initiatives.
- Leads and supports change management, performance improvement, and strategic initiatives designed to enhance patient care delivery and operational effectiveness.
- Ensures regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, and adherence to institutional policies, standards, and best practices.
- Provides day-shift operational leadership for the 48-bed Stem Cell Unit while maintaining 24/7 accountability for patient care delivery, staffing effectiveness, and overall unit performance.
EDUCATION
- Required: Bachelor's Degree Nursing.
- Preferred: Master's Degree Nursing or health related field.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Required: 6 years Professional nursing experience with two years in cancer care. and
- Required: 2 years Management experience in the management of direct patient care activities.
- : Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate and/or LEADing Self Discover programs may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Completion of both programs can be substituted for a maximum of two years of supervisory or management experience.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Required: RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure State of Texas Professional Nursing License (RN). Upon Hire and
- Required: BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire or
- Required: CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation Upon Hire
- Preferred: OCN - Oncology Nurse Certification National certification in Oncology and/or Administration. Upon Hire
- Preferred: ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification as required by patient care area. Upon Hire or
- Preferred: PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification as required by patient care area. Upon Hire
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
