SUMMARY
The Assistant Professor (RFA) provides scientific leadership for cutting-edge spatial omics research, advancing innovative and collaborative programs in cancer biology and translational oncology through interdisciplinary team science.
The primary purpose of the Assistant Professor (RFA) is to advance the institution’s mission through the development, execution, and publishing of high impact research through both independent and collaborative research initiatives. This position also participates in the mentorship of students and trainees.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Research
· Previously participated in an appropriate academic, industrial, or governmental research program.
· Has evidence of ability to carry out individual collaborative research and support, or to play role in departmental or institutional research initiatives.
· Provides scientific leadership in the conception, design, and execution of innovative spatial omics research programs.
· Establish and sustain multidisciplinary collaborations to advance translational and discovery-based research initiatives.
· Leads the interpretation, integration, and application of complex research findings to inform scientific strategy and drive programmatic growth.
Administrative
· Demonstrates potential for institutional service.
· Shows promise for effective participation in teams as appropriate for appointment role(s).
· Complies with all policies and procedures.
· Provides leadership in collaborative research planning and strategic program development.
· Advances institutional scientific initiatives through cross-functional partnerships and engagements.
· Organizes and supports seminars, workshops, symposia, and other scientific events to foster knowledge sharing and collaboration.
Education:
· Doctorate-level degree in a field appropriate to faculty role and/or department mission.
Experience:
· At least 2 years as postdoctoral fellow or Instructor, required or equivalent time as a basic scientist
