Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or Physician Assistant) - Pediatrics Patient Care

REQUIREMENTS 

Education

Required:  Required: Master's Degree Nursing or Doctorate Nursing Practice.  Degree may be waived for applicants who obtained recognition as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse from the Texas State Board of Nursing prior to 1/1/2003.  Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Required:  Written authorization from the Texas Board of Nursing to function as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. Upon Hire.  APRN - Adv Practice Registered Nurse Upon Hire or ACNP - Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Upon Hire or ACNPC - Acute Care Nurse Practitioner - AACCNCC Upon Hire or Acute Care Adult/Geron NP Upon Hire or AGACNP - Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP Upon Hire or ACNPC-AG - Cert AD GEY Acute Care NP Upon Hire or AGPCNP -Adult-Gero Primary Care NP Upon Hire or AGNP -Adult/Gerontology NP Upon Hire or ACPNP -Acute Care Pediatric Nurs Prac Upon Hire or Adult Nurse Practitioner Upon Hire or FNP - Family Nurse Practitioner Upon Hire or GNP - Gerontological Nurse Prac Upon Hire or PNP - Pediatric Nurse Practit Upon Hire or PMHNP - Psych/Mental Health NP Upon Hire or WHNP - Womans Health Nurse Pract. Upon Hire or APNPAdv Pract Nurse/Prescriptive Upon Hire or Related authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population. BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire and PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support If working in the following departments: Pediatric - Patient Care (113100). Upon Hire and MAY BE REQUIRED: Authorization for limited prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing. 

Preferred:  BLS - Basic Life Support American Heart Association Basic Life Support.  ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification as required by patient care area.  PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification as required by patient care area.
